About me

I have thoughts

I’m Alon Hearter.

I make software for work and for fun.

Sometimes that means production systems and internal tools. Sometimes it means a tiny tmux plugin because I wanted to see what album is playing in my terminal. Sometimes it means building a truck animation with my son because he asked for more trucks.

I like practical engineering: fewer handoffs, fewer mysteries, fewer “someone should look at that” situations. Good software, to me, is not only code that works. It is code people can understand, ship, debug, and live with.

This blog is where I put things I don’t want to lose: thoughts about software, AI, music, parenting, meditation, illness, and whatever else keeps circling until I write it down.

I live in Israel. I listen to albums front to back. I like small tools, plain language, and technology that makes people more capable without making them less human.
